Activision has confirmed to Kotaku that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 eschews the career mode featured in the PS2 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, instead replacing it with time-based challenges.
The original version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 allowed players to freely skate around stages while taking on challenges to complete, and while some of these were timed, you were otherwise free to explore at your leisure and grab cash along the way. In the remaster, Iron Galaxy Studios is implementing a free skate option where you can explore freely, but you can’t pick up challenges along the way.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was announced earlier this week after months of rumours, and will arrive in July 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. While it is believed that all skaters featured in both games are returning, Bam Margera is reportedly not see to feature in the game despite being in the original roster.
