People Can Fly, the studio behind games like Outriders and Gears of War: Judgement Day has just officially entered into an agreement with Sony to make a new game based on a Sony IP that is currently codenamed Project Delta.
The news was announced with a report from People Can Fly aimed at its investors, alerting them of the deal, and beyond the codename, and the fact that it’ll be something based on a Sony IP, that’s about all we know about this project.
Of course, anyone who’s been around video games long enough knows that a codename is almost never indicative of anything related to the game itself. The more important piece of information here though, is that this is a game that’ll be based off a Sony owned IP.
Which means that People Can Fly could be starting to work on their version of a new SOCOM game, or a new Killzone game, or a new Resistance game. Those are three IP’s that pop-out based on the fact that People Can Fly has largely made shooters in its history, meaning those franchises could be a strong fit for what they could make for Sony.
Ultimately though it’s so early in the process of this news that we won’t know what this game will be for a long time. It’ll be fun to speculate until then, though.
