BSzili is certainly no stranger to the Amiga scene, as not only did he release the Amiga port of Blake Stone Aliens of Gold, but there was also ports done of Exhumed / Powerslave, Wolfenstein 3D, BLOOD and even my personal favourite Shadow Warrior. Well it looks as if BSzili isn’t done with the Amiga scene just yet, as he has released a proof of concept ‘Tomb Raider’ for the Commodore Amiga called ‘OpenLara’. Although don’t get too excited for a finished product any time soon, as in his words “This took me a few days. No sound, no full game, no warranty. I put it out there as a call to action: if anyone would be interested in helping out with the rasterizer let me know”
While there isn’t much else to say about this proof of concept and what system requirements it has. Here’s a little bit about Tomb Raider you may find interesting. “Lara Croft is a titular character of Core Design’s most memorable franchise Tomb Raider. Developed by experienced game developers from Derby, England, Tomb Raider was released in 1996. Tomb Raider was a huge success, selling over 7 million copies. During the first three months of 1997, Tomb Raider was the ninth-best-selling console game in the United States, with around 143,000 copies sold. This made it the highest-selling Playstation title for the period, in the United States. The game also received a “Platinum” sales award for PC and a “Gold” award for the Playstation”.
