Raphaël Colantonio, the founder of Arkane Studios and co-creator of the Dishonored franchise, has revealed that he wouldn’t be against working on a Dishonored 3, but at this point we probably shouldn’t get our hopes up of it actually happening anytime soon.
Quizzed about possibly bringing back the Humahead Studios version of Prey 2 during an episode of the Quad Damage Podcast, Colantonio made it clear he wasn’t too interested in taking on someone else’s work, but did offer the following about a potential Dishonored 3:
“I’d love to – I mean, we’re talking totally hypothetically at this point – I could see myself working on Dishonored 3 right now because it’s been so long that, you know, why not?.” However, he was quick to add that “after Dishonored 1, the last thing I wanted to do for the next four years of my life was Dishonored 2. In general I like to create new stuff.”

Colantionio added that Harvey Smith (creator of Dishonored) and Dinga Bakaba (Deathloop direcotr) and himself all have an ideas about a possible Dishonored 3, although that’s not to say it’ll ever happen.
I don’t think it would make sense to talk about it. Which of those three versions will ever see the day, now we’re talking about science fiction at this point. So many of the people [that worked on the series] are scattered around, and Harvey is not at Arkane any more. I’m not at Arkane, and Dinga is working on Blade.
The future of the Dishonoed franchise remains up in the air at present, as nothing official has been confirmed about any potential follow-up.
